Imaging Biomarker Validation Project

Purpose

The goal of this project was to conduct post-mortem validation of many imaging biomarkers developed at UCLA using a 7T magnetic resonance imaging. Such high magnetic field strength will allow unprecedented resolution and visualization of regional characteristics and changes in the brain tissue normally only visible under the microscope. Brain changes associated with AD was to be quantified and the associations between pathologic and imaging biomarkers established. This research project period has ended.
