Metabolic Cerebral Imaging in Incipient Dementia (MCI-ID)

Purpose

Participants (age 65 and older and not receiving treatment for any dementia-related disorder) are sought who are experiencing problems with memory, communication skills, or general mental state. These changes could be the result of normal aging, or they could be early warnings of developing Alzheimer's disease. Through this study, we aim to determine whether data on brain metabolism can affect diagnosis and management decisions and lead to improved clinical outcomes of patients who get PET scans at an early stage of mental decline.
